Shel Silverstein

In my inbox this morning there was a notice for "SCOOTERS FOR SALE".  Two cute refurbished black and white vespas.  Darling.

What is funny is that for whatever reason, the title reminded me of this poem from my childhood by Shel Silverstein. What a legend!

FOR SALE
One sister for sale!
One sister for sale!
One crying and spying young sister for sale!
I’m really not kidding,
So who’ll start the bidding?
Do I hear the dollar?
A nickel?
A penny?
Oh, isn’t there, isn’t there, isn’t there any
One kid that will buy this old sister for sale,
This crying and spying young sister for sale?

I probably haven't read it for 20 years or something crazy like that.  Funny how things stick.  It started reminding me of all the classics... BOA CONSTRICTOR... SICK... PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SANDWICH...

What a love. Thanks Shel!
